I believe peak results come from peak recovery.
Knowing how to recharge your batteries is essential if you want to be a successful business owner.
And there are 6 areas you need to recover from daily.
Most business owners get these wrong and it's killing their performance:
1. Recover from work:
I have over-committed before...so have you.
You think you can do more daily. You underestimate how long a task will take. You find it difficult to unplug because your mind races.
The only solution to this...
Block time off and detach from your work daily.
2. Recover from technology:
I used to disconnect rarely.
Now I spend hrs daily disconnected.
Ask yourself this:
Does your phone travel with you into every room?
Because overuse of Smartphones and Social Media makes you more impulsive.
Learn to get away from technology daily.
3. Recover from people:
As an introvert...who acts like an extrovert when around others.
I need time away from people to recover.
Time alone is essential.
Even if it's only 1 hour a day.
Create space in your days.
Those hours alone allow BIG ideas to appear in your mind.
4. Recovery from food and drink:
I used to get hangovers from drinking.
Now I get hangovers from the wrong foods.
Feeling sluggish each morning kills your mental performance.
This is why I don't eat 2 to 3 hrs before I sleep
I am not an expert in this area but it works.
5. Recover from working out:
Hear me out...this has affected me.
Working out too hard at night and not being able to sleep. Or too hard in the morning and losing focus.
I work out in the afternoon for this reason.
Find the right time that works for you and recover well.
6. Recover from being awake:
Are you sleeping enough?
You know the benefits of sleep. 7 to 8 hours of sleep gives you superpowers compared to those who sleep less.
A lack of sleep WILL affect your business in negative ways.
I love my sleep and go out of my way to protect it.
Conclusion.
If you want to have a successful business...you need peak recovery.
You need to recover from:
• Food
• Work
• People
• Technology
• Working out
• Being awake
If you don't recover...
You’ll always be tired, distracted, stressed, and unhealthy.
